We are a community arts project based in Hässelby-Vällingby in Stockholm. In our work, we start from the philosophy of hip hop where peace, love and community are at the center. We use a liberating and participatory pedagogy that gives everyone the opportunity to be co-creators in the creative process. Together, we explore and tell personal and shared stories by integrating theater with hip hop's various art forms - dance, MCing, graffiti and DJing. Practical and visual methods and tools enable people with different backgrounds and backgrounds to participate on equal terms. We see hip hop as a medium for expressing oneself but also a tool for understanding oneself and others.
Papilion is led by a group of creative, innovative and experienced artists, performers and educators. We collaborate with Kulturhuset-Stadsteatern in Vällingby and many of our activities take place in their premises. We work mainly in Swedish and English, but the spoken language should never be an obstacle to participation. There are many ways to express yourself and communicate!
Our leaders are themselves performers and experts in various areas of street dance, theater, music and street art. At the same time, they are experienced educators who are used to working with children and young people. In addition to the mentors who have the main responsibility for the various groups, we have invited several awesome guest teachers and inspirers.

HipHop Teater Kollektivet is a project funded by the Swedish Arts Council, CREATIVE PLACES - part of the
initiative Take place. The project aims to create a creative platform for communication,
collaboration and community involvement. HipHop Teater Kollektivet gives you the opportunity to take
part in different stories from the inhabitants of areas around Vällingby-Hässelby in Stockholm. We are a
partnership consisting of three different organizations:
Community Bridge, Papilion AB and
Kulturhuset Stadsteatern Vällingby.
